How does it work?

Tap listen and hold your phone near your dog. The app picks out dog sounds from other noise and names the type, such as bark, growl, whine, yelp or howl. It then looks at pitch, length, whether the sound rises or falls, and how fast the sounds come, together with what you say your dog is doing, and lists the most likely meanings. All of this happens on your phone.

Does it translate word for word?

No. Dogs do not speak in words, so the app does not translate word for word. It analyzes the sound and the situation and shows what your dog most likely wants, such as guarding the house, wanting to play, or wanting attention.

How can I get better results?

• Fill in your dog's profile, and say what your dog is doing while you listen.
• After a result, tell the app whether it was right. It learns your own dog over time.
• Listen somewhere quiet, with the phone close to your dog.

Can it replace a vet?

No. The app does not diagnose illness. The signs checklist, the comfort check and the night log only help you notice things, and the app warns from the signs you pick, never from sound alone. If you are worried, see a vet. If the app says it is urgent, go now.

I bought the unlock. How do I get it on a new phone or after reinstalling?

• Open the dog profile page and tap "Bought before? Restore".
• Use the same Google Play or Apple account you bought with.
• On Android the app usually restores it by itself when it opens.

The app can't use the microphone or camera

Open your phone's settings, choose this app, allow the microphone or camera, then come back to the app.

Deleting recordings and data on the phone

The app keeps only the newest 20 recordings. To remove everything, clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
